EMPLOYABILITY ENHANCEMENT

Every management programme has to be aimed at enhancing the employability of the student executives. Accordingly MPBIM is undertaking a number of non-academic activities to enhance skills of the students, develop qualities of team working and leadership, and improve their overall value-system quotient.

These additional activities, which include relevant soft-skills, are expected to make our students (who are passing out with an MBA degree) more confident and capable not only of acquitting themselves very well during the job selection processes that they will encounter in the immediate future, but also give them a foundation to perform well in their jobs during the subsequent 5 to 6 years.

MPBIM conducts skill enhancement programmes at Garwale Outbound Adventure Learning (GOAL) Centre at Garwale near Madikeri in Kodagu District where student executives get an opportunity to exhibit and hone their skills in decision making, leadership, team working and communication.

Besides, the training at Garwale, the areas targeted for improvement at MPBIM are shown below. The college is mobilising key resources from external agencies apart from utilizing the bank of knowledge, experience and skills available with the existing faculty and staff:

Other Initiatives for Employability Enhancement

Apart from the above, MPBIM has also joined hands with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)- Young Indians Chapter in Bangalore for conducting programmes for our students which will enhance corporate exposure to the students, Industry Visits, etc. MPBIM has also tied up with Xed Intellect which has expertise in providing innovative and effective online learning solutions. These Solutions are designed to improve Management students' performance and thereby enhance their employability skills. Xed Intellect has developed a unique 3-Dimensional Learning Model (3DLM) by using 3 modes of delivery Daily Mobile Updates via SMS , Weekly Learning Modules & Newsletters via Email and conducting Quizzes Online. Institute is also conducting Business Leadership Forum where CEO's and Business Leaders speak and interact with students besides conducting symposiums, seminars, panel discussions, workshops and quizz contests.

Certification programmes

Towards enhancing the domain knowledge of the students, MPBIM has been conducting certification programmes. Under the aegis of this initiative, some of the programmes conducted are:

Certification Programme 1 - Digital Marketing

On 13th of April 2018, a  programme on Digital Marketing was conducted by Zikrabyte at the institute, led by Mr. Tejaswi Pavate and other three members, who conducted the sessions.  The session was divided into two segments where in the first segment they focussed on the importance and process of creating advertising content and the second session was ongoing live marketing with hands on experience. The students were divided into groups and were given a task of creating a Facebook page with advertisements using pen, bag and cap as chosen products. The students participated by creating advertisements, by uploading the picture along with content and price and our own competitors had to buy the product by liking the particular advertisement. This gave an immense and an effective  exposure of live marketing.

Certification Programme 2 - Workshop on Advance Excel

Advance Excel Workshop, conducted by Dr. Lalith Achoth was held at MPBIM on 20.4.2018. Over 65 students had registered for the programme. The session started with a brief note of what is MS Excel and covered other usage of advanced commands of finance and statistics. ADVANCE EXCEL which is widely used by the corporates and educational institutions.. Former Professor and Head, Department of Dairy Economics and Business Management, Dr. Lalith Achoth has over three decades of teaching and research experience. Dr.  Achoth gave students an insight basics of excel commands such has WHAT IF,V LOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MACROS , LOGEST date and year which enriched the   knowledge. The daylong session in which students were practically trained by using MS Excel with live data, cases and assignments.

Certification Programme 3 -  Stock market Trading

Certification Programme on 'Stock market Trading' for II semester students conducted by Mr. Mohan Rao, Branch Manager and team from Geojit Financial Services 0n Friday,4th May 2018. Geojit Financial Services Ltd. is an investment services companies in India headquartered in Kochi, Kerala. It operates a network of offices across India and the Middle East. The students and faculty members were given hand on experience in this important financial activity.
